There are many local, national, and international charitable organizations providing relief to the country of Haiti. Here are organizations we've had the opportunity to partner with over the years: Samaritan's Purse is a nondenominational evangelical Christian organization providing spiritual and physical aid to hurting people around the world. Since 1970, Samaritan's Purse has helped meet needs of people who are victims of war, poverty, natural disasters, disease, and famine with the purpose of sharing God's love through His Son, Jesus Christ. The organization serves the Church worldwide to promote the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ. World Relief is a wholly-owned subsidiary of the National Association of Evangelicals (NAE), which is made up of more than 50 member denominations and hundreds of evangelical churches. World Relief has ministries in more than 20 countries. This ministry provides relief in times of disaster, long-term solutions to persistent poverty, medical programs and AIDS care and education, help for refugee families and ministry in urban centers of the United States. The Red Cross is a humanitarian organization led by volunteers, committed to saving lives and easing suffering. This diverse organization serves humanity and helps you by providing relief to victims of disaster, both locally and globally. The Red Cross is responsible for half of the nation's blood supply and blood products. The Red Cross gives health and safety training to the public and provides emergency social services to U.S. military members and their families. In the wake of an earthquake, tornado, flood, fire, hurricane or other disaster, it provides relief services to communities across the country. World Vision is a Christian relief and development organization dedicated to helping children and their communities worldwide reach their full potential by tackling the causes of poverty. World Vision helps transform the lives of the world's poorest children and families in nearly 100 countries, including the United States. Their non-profit work extends assistance to all people, regardless of their religious beliefs, gender, race, or ethnic background. The Salvation Army, an international movement, is an evangelical part of the universal Christian Church. Its message is based on the Bible. Its ministry is motivated by the love of God. Its mission is to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ and to meet human needs in His name without discrimination. From the horrific events of 11 September 2001 to the recent conflict in Iraq, the Salvation Army has been there to provide compassion to those in real and sudden need. The Army strives to provide first for the immediate physical needs, but beyond that, ministry for the aching heart and the weary soul. The mission of Operation Blessing is "to demonstrate God's love by alleviating human need and suffering in the United States and around the world." Operation Blessing International Relief and Development Corporation (OBI) is a non-profit 501 (c) (3) humanitarian organization based in Virginia Beach, Virginia, USA. Since 1978, Operation Blessing International has touched the lives of more than 175.1 million people in 96 countries and all 50 states, providing goods and services valued at more than $750 million. Compassion International exists as an advocate for children, releasing them from spiritual, economic, social and physical poverty and enabling them to become responsible, fulfilled Christian adults. Compassion is highly rated. At least 80 percent of all child sponsorship ministry expenditures are used on programs serving children and we consistently receive the highest ratings for financial integrity and program excellence.
