These Aren't Your Average Teddy Bears

Carol Smith, a member of Greenmount United Methodist Church in Hampstead, Maryland, shared this wonderful idea with us.

"Last year a member of our congregation started the Hug-a-Bear program in our church. Donated, gently used, or new bears are passed around the congregation on Sundays, hugged, prayed over and put aside for use by anyone in the congregation undergoing any kind of stress in their life and needs a hug and prayer. Anyone is free to take one for others in the community for the same reason. It has been heart-warming to hear the stories of how the bears have helped."

Each bear comes with a tag to let the person receiving the bear know they're not getting just any bear.

Carol adds, "It's a wonderful way to share God's love." We agree!
