You know, we make for ourselves idols of our hearts: things that become way too important that obscure our love, our need, and our dependence on God.
They can be really good things, just distorted. Like, for example, the need, the desire to know your purpose. I hear so many people say, “Why am I here? I just want to know what my purpose is!”
Jesus said, “Seek first the kingdom of God.”
So, before you ask, “Why am I here?” ask, “Who are You, Lord? Reveal Yourself to me.”
If you seek Him first, you’re not going to miss out on your purpose.
