There are times when we feel like we can't break free of the things holding us down or holding us back.
The Apostle Paul understood that feeling. He wrote in Romans 7:15, "I don’t really understand myself, for I want to do what is right, but I don’t do it. Instead, I do what I hate." He went on to say in verse 24-25, "Oh, what a miserable person I am! Who will free me from this life that is dominated by sin and death? Thank God! The answer is in Jesus Christ our Lord." There is freedom in Jesus! Do you believe it? Sometimes, circumstances can feel so overwhelming that we forget the truth. If that's where you are today, maybe you need these truths to remind you that you can live in freedom.
"He led them from the darkness and deepest gloom; he snapped their chains." - Psalm 107:14
"So Christ has truly set us free. Now make sure that you stay free, and don't get tied up again in slavery to the law." - Galatians 5:1
"But whenever someone turns to the Lord, the veil is taken away. For the Lord is the Spirit, and wherever the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom. So all of us who have had that veil removed can see and reflect the glory of the Lord. And the Lord—who is the Spirit—makes us more and more like him as we are changed into his glorious image." - 2 Corinthians 3:16-18
"So now there is no condemnation for those who belong to Christ Jesus. And because you belong to him, the power of the life-giving Spirit has freed you from the power of sin that leads to death." - Romans 8:1-2
"Act as free men, and do not use your freedom as a covering for evil, but use it as bondslaves of God." - 1 Peter 2:16
"For you have been called to live in freedom, my brothers and sisters. But don’t use your freedom to satisfy your sinful nature. Instead, use your freedom to serve one another in love." - Galatians 5:13
