Help Houston - How To Help Hurricane Harvey Victims

What can I do? That's the question so many ask after a tragic event. First and foremost, don't underestimate the power of prayer. Pray for those affected and ask God how you can serve and help them. Second, consider giving financially to organizations on the ground in the areas affected by Hurricane Harvey. This allows humanitarian and local organizations already in the community receive the necessary resources. Third, if you want to physically go to the affected area and help, consider signing up to volunteer with Samaritan's Purse or the American Red Cross. Here are a few national and local organizations to consider.

To give to relief efforts and/or volunteer in person

Samaritan's Purse - Samaritan's Purse is already on the ground in Texas. You can make a financial contribution here. They are asking for volunteers for the coming months as they help the local communities rebuild. Individuals, church, and community organizations can sign up here.

The American Red Cross - Donate on their website, call 1-800-RED CROSS, or text HARVEY to 90999 to make a $10 donation.

To support Houston food relief efforts

Houston Food Bank - The Houston Food Bank serves the local, Houston Community. They've created this page specifically for Hurricane Harvey Relief donations. You can donate financially which will allow them to bulk purchase supplies to best meet Houstonians' needs.

To support Houston families with infants and small children

Houston Pregnancy Help Center - Their Mobile Medical Unit serves the city of Houston delivering diapers, formula, and other needed materials for families in a crisis situation. You can see how they helped during the most recent flood here. You can give here.
