The Advent of Christ

When we light the Christ candle, we are acknowledging the arrival of the Messiah, the Savior of the World. Jesus Christ has come, and His coming has given us hope again. The hope that all mankind would be reconciled to God. This candle is a symbol that this tiny baby boy is the Light of the World, and this light has the power to light the darkest corners of the heart. We celebrate this light, we praise this light, and we are thankful for this light.

The Word became flesh and now dwells among us.

The King of Heaven has come to earth to be cared for by the very people He created and formed from the ground.

Emmanuel, God with us, has come to seek and to save the lost.

He has made himself of no reputation and has taken on Himself the form of a servant.

He will fulfill His Father’s mission by becoming obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.

Christmas is the most wonderful time of year, because Christ has come, He is with us, and now we have an eternal hope.
