Molly’s Minute: Never Thirsty Again

November 18, 2020

My favorite beverage, hands down, is sweet tea. When I’m thirsty, nothing sounds better than an ice-cold, super sweet glass of it.

But the problem is, sweet tea won’t actually quench my thirst. In fact, because of the caffeine in it, the more I drink, the more dehydrated I’ll get.

If I drink sweet tea when I’m thirsty, I’ll just end up being thirsty again. I’d be much better off drinking water.

When you or I need to be refilled, we’ll look for that refill in countless different places—food, TV, shopping, all that stuff.

And those things might make us feel better temporarily. But they won’t fill us up for good.

In the Gospel of John, Jesus says, “Everyone who drinks of this water will be thirsty again, but whoever drinks of the water that I will give him will never be thirsty again.”

Jesus is the only one who can refill us and keep us full. Every other refill is temporary.

So, the next time we need it, let’s rely on Him and Him alone to fill us up.

John 4:13-14 “Everyone who drinks of this water will be thirsty again, but whoever drinks of the water that I will give him will never be thirsty again.”
