Molly’s Minute: Seeking God’s (And Only God’s) Approval

October 9, 2020

Confession: I can be a bit of a people pleaser.

I don’t want anyone to have negative feelings towards me. So, to avoid that, I do what’s asked of me, I rarely say no, and I try to never go against the grain.

I care what other people think of me. Which means I often find myself chasing their approval.

I think we’ve all found ourselves trying to earn the approval of someone else.

But can we seek the approval of both man and God?

Galatians 1:10 says that, “If I were still trying to please man, I would not still be a servant of Christ.”

We have to choose between seeking the approval of the people around us and seeking the approval of God. We can’t do both.

So, whose approval will you choose to seek today?

Galatians 1:10 “For am I now seeking the approval of man, or of God? Or am I trying to please man? If I were still trying to please man, I would not be a servant of Christ.”
